2314 Far Field Scanner System
High speed, high dynamic range mode field diameter, effective area and numerical aperture measurements
The 2314 Far Field Scanner System provides both high speed and high dynamic range characterization of the mode field diameter and effective area of single-mode fibers, and also the numerical aperture of multimode fibers. With a scanning range up to 0.87 NA and the ability to perform precise far field measurements from 500 to 1700 nm, the 2314 can characterize virtually all standard and specialty optical fiber designs.
Features and Benefits
The 2314 supports up to six internal light sources which can be quickly connected to the fiber under test with low optical loss via a Photon Kinetics 1100 Single Fiber Aligner, 1120 Bare Fiber Aligner or similar customer-supplied coupling device. Standard sources available include 1310, 1550 and 1625 nm lasers for single-mode fiber measurements, and LEDs at both 850 and 1300 nm for multimode fibers. Special laser sources at 632, 780, 820, 980 and 1064 nm are also offered, as are custom light sources.
The 2314 is the only mode field diameter, effective area and numerical aperture measurement system that provides "standards laboratory" precision with the ease-of-use and data acquisition speed that are essential for the production floor.
- Reference measurement technique ensures measurement accuracy
- Configuration flexibility enhances instrument utility, return on investment
- Internal laser sources reduce footprint, speed measurement, simplify connection to fiber
- High dynamic range improves accuracy, reduces measurement time
